We had a fun Halloween! It was a little rainy (I feel like I say that every Halloween?!), but it was our first Halloween on our new street, and it did not disappoint. We have a house on our block that's got a reputation for its over-the-top holiday decorations, and apparently that draws extra folks to our street for Halloween. We took the kids to a few houses all together as a family, and then I ran back home to hand out candy while Erik forged on with our kids (dressed as Hermoine Granger from Harry Potter, Spider-man, and Lightning McQueen). I went through all of our giant bags of candy as I answered the doorbell; it was a steady stream of costumed kids! I enjoyed it. Towards the end of the night we headed over to a friend's neighborhood to visit and go to a few more houses with them. Lots of fun, a ton of kids, and more candy than we need! Thankfully the kids' school takes donations the following week at school; they send the candy to kids in rough Chicago neighborhoods that might not have gotten to go out for Halloween. I'm all in favor of sending our candy that route. Happy Halloween!
