Christmas 2015

Christmas 2015 is in the books!  It was a really wonderful holiday.  We spent time with family and enjoyed our first Christmas in our new home.  There was lots of wonderment with 3 kids at such fun ages enjoying such a magical time of year.

We began by meeting up just prior to Christmas with the Reder family at Big Sky Cabin in Nashville, IN.  This has become a tradition over the past few years and the cabin is always buzzing (there are 16 people staying there, afterall!).  We take turns making big meals and we spend our time watching movies, playing board games, decorating cookies, working on giant jigsaw puzzles, and going for outings around the area.  Typically, on the second night of our stay, we exchange gifts and enjoy a "Christmas" dinner.   Here are some photos of our time there.

A merry Christmas morning (still dark outside)!

After playing for a bit, we piled in the car and headed to Clarendon Hills for a fun Christmas with the Browns!  We take walks to the park, play outside in the yard, play trains, play hide-and-seek - lots of play!  We are so grateful to be able to spend this special time with family.

Christmas is Coming...

We always enjoy when Christmastime rolls around.  There is so much to be thankful for and so many special events.  Being our first Christmas in our new home, we also really enjoyed decorating and finding the best spots for our favorite holiday items.  Here are a few photos of the fun we've been having...

Cassidy's artwork - this is the character from the book Olive, the Other Reindeer.

It was fun to set up our little Dicken's Village scene!  We never found a good spot at our old house, but this radiator cover in our new home's dining room works wonderfully.
Decorating the house with lights

Tyler's favorite ornament - the train moves around the village tree while a Christmas song plays.

Tyler was cracking us up!
Hmmm, who's the jokester...
It went on for a while!

Happy Thanksgiving

We love Thanksgiving!  We kept with our tradition, visiting both of our families over the holiday weekend.  We started in Clarendon Hills at Erik's parents' house - we had a wonderful turkey dinner with all the family-favorite dishes.  We missed the Tiemans, who were visiting Aaron's family, but we were happy to see them the next day!  The cousins have SO much fun together.
On Saturday morning, we drove down to Lafayette, IN to the Hardings house to visit with my sisters and their families.  Steve and Tracy are amazing chefs and their Thanksgiving meal is always delicious.  We set a really long table and enjoyed catching up with everyone!  We so appreciate all of these turkey day hosts!  There is so much for which we are thankful.
Gavin made this awesome turkey decoration at school - he'll now be part of our annual decor!
