A Celebration for our Birthday Boy

We had a really fun birthday celebration for Gavin this past weekend! We spent the day with family. Grandma and Grandpa Reder came in from Rockford and Grammy and Grandpa Brown came in from Clarendon Hills, along with Aunt Mel and Uncle Aaron. We started the party with a birthday brunch, complete with our family's German goetta recipe. It seemed to be a hit - even Gavin was shoving in little fistfuls! After opening some wonderful birthday gifts (Cassie was Gavin's helper, and loved every minute of it), we moved along to birthday cake. Gavin had his own little cake, but rather than eating it he decided to mash it into pieces. What fun! Below are some of our favorite photos from the day. Big thanks to our families for joining us to celebrate!

Reading books with Grandma (Gavin LOVES to be read to!)
Giving hi-fives to Grandpa (Gavin's latest trick)
Opening his Raggedy Andy gift from Grammy (this was Erik's when he was a baby, homemade and given to him by HIS Grammy!). Grammy Brown fixed him all up for Gavin!
Gavin's birthday cakes
Tentative at first...
Then the demolition began, it was great fun!
All cleaned up and cuddling with Aunt Mel
Our family! Happy birthday, Gavin!!!
