Cassidy's First Communion

On May 2, 2015, Cassidy had her First Communion.  What a special day!  We had tons of family in town for the weekend and we are so grateful that so many could join us to be with Cassidy on this special occasion in her life.

Our sweet 7 year old (nearly 8!)
A few weeks prior, Cassidy mentioned she was interested in getting her ears pierced.  She especially wanted to be able to wear some pretty earrings on her First Communion day.  We explained that this would require a real commitment from her to take care of her ears in the coming months, cleaning them and turning the earrings every day to ensure the piercings were healthy.  She was on board.  So we headed out to Claire's and she picked out a pair of very pretty, small flowers to be her first set of earrings.  We had a few tears and a few moments of doubt as she saw the metal piercer on the table, but she pushed through and was all smiles just a few minutes afterwards.  The earrings look very pretty (and so grown up!  sniff sniff.)
Moments after ear piercing.  It hurt a little, but she's glad she did it!
Fast forward to First Communion weekend, and we just really enjoyed the time with family.  We were prepping for a move a few weeks down the road, so the house was in a state of packing chaos, but no one seemed to mind a bit and we just focused our energy on having fun and enjoying Cassie's special day.  I must have been too busy having fun (and trying to get my family of 5 dressed up and ready for church!) that I didn't do the best job of taking photos.  We had grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins!  It was a truly beautiful spring day outside with gorgeous weather.  But we captured as many as we could and I've posted them below.  We are grateful to God for our sweet Cassidy, a true blessing to us.  We are so proud of her for growing in her faith.  We love you to the moon and back, Cass!

I had to add this adorable photo from her baptism day - Oct 2007.  Love that happy girl!
